Why create SAAP Kitchen? ...
Our mission is to share the food that we grew up eating to as many people as possible. Food has always been a central theme in our family – we grew up watching our mothers create huge feasts. We saw the sense of purpose it gave them. We feel a certain responsibility to carry the torch of our parents and pass on their traditions, their dreams, and their stories so that it can live on in some form or fashion for future generations.
What does SAAP mean to us? ...
Saap in Laotian means delicious. It’s what you say to any Laotian auntie or grandma when complementing their food. However, it means so much more than that to us. Saap symbolizes our heritage. By saying “saap”, we are announcing to the world that Lao cuisine is delicious and worth acknowledging.
What makes SAAP jerky so delicious? ...
We started out with a very traditional Laotian recipe called Seen Savanh, which translates to Heavenly Beef. Elson (Co-Founder), worked really hard to further perfect our product, which makes it unique amongst both American and Laotian jerkies. True to Lao fashion, we use very simple ingredients but really try to maximize the flavor. It's sweet, savory, and a lot more tender than your typical jerky. The main difference is that Lao jerky is flash fried before serving, which puts a beautiful caramelized glaze on the exterior. We make it fresh every week and don't use any nitrates or preservatives. It's also MSG and gluten free!

How long will it take to receive my order? ...
Because we make our jerky fresh every week, please allow 2-3 business days for processing after your order is placed. The shipping time frame will depend on the shipping method you choose during the checkout process (typically between 1-4 business days). [This means you should receive your package within a total of 3-7 business days.] You will receive an email that will allow you to track your package once we have shipped your order. Get shopping!

For optimal freshness, we recommend consuming our jerky within six weeks of purchase.
